We are in the process of restoring and renovating our Victorian home. Plastic, vinyl and other similar products are not an option. We have been taking our time, picking up pieces at auction, or in our travels and working on our home \"in our spare time.\" Careful attention to detail, patience and research have gone into each room. The ceiling tiles and crown moldings in the kitchen were no different. Initially, we were really impressed with the webpage, photos, samples, customer service in responding to our inquiries and then the ordering process and answers to questions upon on installation. However, once the ceiling tiles, corner blocks and molding were installed, we were truly amazed at the transformation of the room. The ceiling pattern is authentic to the period and really makes the room’s 10 foot ceilings. Computer color matched paint was applied to wood blocks and kitchen door inset panels and window trim.

Everyone that enters the home is in awe of the transformation and their eyes immediately go to the ceiling. What color is that? Copper? Bronze? No, Mocha Bronze. The color is unique and it never looks the same. Depending upon the time of day and vantage point the ceiling takes on different tones. My favorite lighting is with the wall sconces on dim and reflecting off the tiles. It is spectacular!!

The tile perfectly compliments our antique Majestic Cook Stove (which is in working order), Bradley and Hubbard Country Store light, oak pedestal table, soon to be installed antique oak cabinets and other antique pieces.

We have now decided to do the dining room, living room and all the hallways in American Tin Ceilings. As we have been working on a room a year, we figure we are set for a few years worth of projects. In the end it will be well worth the time and TLC.

Thanks to American Tin Ceilings our house has and will continue to metamorphosis into the comfortable period home that we were seeking to raise our family and enjoy with family and friends for years to come!!

Why are Tin Ceilings so popular today?

Tin Ceilings remind us of a different time in our country's history. Tin Ceilings stir memories of gentler days when elegance and beauty reigned. A slower paced era where style and grace were the watchwords in home decor. Old time victorian homes, formal parlors, farmhouses with wood burning stoves and other historic architecture we've seen in literature and film or remember from our childhood.

It is said that "Everything Old Becomes New Again". It reinvents itself and becomes fashionable again, perhaps because it was so fashionable in the first place. Fashion goes in and out of style as modern ideas are introduced to the market. But the popular styling's of the past always cycle back into modern contemporary culture. The Tin Ceiling exemplifies this concept.
